To put it schematically, the claim "Everything is subjective" must be nonsense, for it would itself have to be either subjective or objective. But it can't be objective, since in that case it would be false if true. And it can't be subjective, because then it would not rule out any objective claim, including the claim that it is objectively false.

この手の議論って、自分自身が言うところの意味合いをちゃんと自分で理解しているという、殆ど何の根拠も論証もないことを前提にするからジレンマに見えるんじゃないのかな。当サイトで thanatophobia の論説でも書いてることだけど、何かこうして書いてる時点で既にパブリックな(「客観的」という概念は、それこそタイラー・バージの大著でも読んでからにしたいものだ)表現に置き換えているわけだし、自分のことであってもそれはもう subjective ではない。もちろん、objective かどうかなんて、書いてる当人にはいくら慎重に言葉を選んでも相手に正しく伝わるかどうか(という基準で objective だと言い得ると仮定して)は分からないし、実はたいていのコミュニケーションにおいては、そういうことに頓着しない人も多い。つまり、言葉の意味よりも、そういうことを発言している私を見てくれという performative action なのだ。
