  XSWEEKLY Shell Related News 25.11.00 - 01.12.00
 -------------------------------------------------

As the holidays are approaching fast, the scene is starting
to slow down a bit. This makes for reporting on things hard as news
is pretty scarce. Even the main news sites are pretty much either
digging for news, or bringing up older issues. I think here I will
do that latter.

One of the past issues that has bugged me but seems to be
remedied is interactive of the coder to the users. In the past I
have seen coders look down there noses at the user as if they were
nothing more than annoyances that had to be dealt with. Recently
though, I see the coders, webmasters, etc.. talking more with the
end users and getting their input. This is a great thing imo. With
this, the coder can now hunt bugs faster, would out new features, and
it makes the user feel as if he is a part of the community. That is
what open source projects should be all about. Let's try and keep
the community feeling going. It can only help us in the end.

- Dream7

Dawm is creating an all in one site: news, music, reviews, chats,
etc... As of right now it is in the very beginnings of being.
Stop on over and check it out. If you have the time, send him
and e-mail and help him out. This site looks like it could become
  something very interesting.

- Azathoth Takes Over DarkStep (10:17 27.11 ds)

After months of silence from the DarkStep front, Fahim has
released his source over to Azathoth in hopes that he will
continue to work on the shell. I spoke with Aza on irc and
he said that he plans on gathering up a dev team to begin
	reworking DarkStep.

- LiteStep Has Includes (14:43 28.11 ls)

As of the latest official daily build, LiteStep now has
includes. What this means is you can call to another file
with commands in it within the main step.rc. This is
something that has been long in the coming. It will allow
for theme swaping and editing to be a lot eaiser.

- ckVWM 1.25 ~ Chaku (10:53 27.11 ls)

ckVWM is an updated sysvwm that was originally written by
killarny. This is a more advanced vwm then the one that
	comes stock with LiteStep.

	New in this version:

	- added config VWMFocusLast, so that the window that has the
last focus will be focussed when switch back to that desktop.
This config can coexist with config VWMFocusCenter, but the
focus last code will run first before the focus center code.

	- now !VWMMOVEAPP can accept number that specifies which
desktop to move to instead of just moving to the neighboring
desktop. syntax: !VWMMOVEAPP #, where # is the desktop
	  number starting from 1

	- now compatible with dwarf and lsbox(no 64^2 size limit),
and almost all other wharf loading modules
	- photoshop tools
	- fixed !VWMMoveApp bang, so that it won't move always on top
	  stuff.
	- fixed a rendering problem when the width of each vwm is
	  shorter than the height

Seems that galois, coder of LSTS, has opened up a site
on FPN. It is a very simple page with a few links to his
two programs so if you have any design ideas or layout send
	them his way.
