  XSWEEKLY Shell Related News 14.10.00 - 20.10.00
 -------------------------------------------------

Content filtering is really, really starting to get to me.
I recently sent an e-mail out to the LiteStep list and got a nice
little spam back from some content filtering bot telling me that my
mail is now quarantined as it is a "sensitive e-mail" because I used
a swear word. Then, I reply back to the list stating that this is
a neo-nazi approach and THAT one gets banned too!! What is this crap?
You have GOT to be kidding me. Yes, lets protect our children by
filtering everything!

Censorship on this scale is disgusting. It's not like I was
explaining how to make a bomb (this will now be banned, I used the
word bomb) or something. It's freedom of expression. What really gets
me most is that it is a US company that is blocking it too. Where is
freedom of speech?? Apparently I didn't though enough of my tax
money at the government for them to care enough. Oh ya, I forgot, it's
a company, they reserve the right to stomp all over my rights because
it's private sector. Lovely. With the way the world is going now,
it will be so desensitized that anyone that even THINKS of a word
that could possibility be considered offensive will be serving life.
Welcome to the 21st century and all that it doesn't entail.

- VBModule ~ SubZer0 (10:13 19.10 ls)

This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. SubZer0 has
finally done something that a lot of people have been waiting
for, you can now code LS modules in VB.

- grdAmp 0.98 ~ grd (10:40 19.10 ls)

	"This is not a normal winamp-frontend-litestep-module. It's a
module that wraps the basic functionality of winamp but
WITHOUT using winamp itself. This is achieved by interfacing
the winamp input and output plugin architecture."

- jKey 0.32 ~ jugg (9:35 20.10 pls)

jKey.dll is Hotkey manager for Win32 Shells. jKey is based
off the idea of LiteStep's Hotkey.dll, but offers more
	features and configuration options.

	New in this version:

	- Fixed recycle bug where Window Class wasn't being
	  unregistered correctly.
	- Fixed problem with Hotkey error box, that kept it from
showing the name of the Hotkey that failed, if that hotkey
wasn't listed in the virtual key table.
	- I built this version under Win2k. I normally build under
Win98se. It shouldn't change anything, but you never know.

- 2X Explorer

With the recent talk of third party file managers, I thought
I would mention one of the better ones. I ripped the
description right off of Shell City's page. "2xExplorer is a
great dual-pane (Norton Commander-style) file manager for
Win9x/NT. It offers efficient navigation and features such
as file filters, folder synchronization, editor and shell
context menu support, DriveBar for trick navigation, and
Mirror browsing and scrolling for tree synchronization. It
extends the functionality of the standard Windows Explorer
by adding an extra folder contents pane, which enables
directory comparisons and easy file transfers. Yet the
program is designed to look and "feel" like the standard
Explorer so as to be straightforward to use.
