  XSWEEKLY Shell Related News 30.09.00 - 06.10.00
 -------------------------------------------------

Why is it that people want help doc's so bad that they flame us to
death because none are written, but refuse to read the documentation that is
out there now? Each module comes with its own readme that usually sums up
what the module is about and how to use it. I will admit that some times
they are impossible to read but at least try first will you! I'm sitting
around hacking out core docs and someone in a channel is asking a question
that I KNOW is available and easy to understand. Not only that, but this
person is pointed to the place that the doc is kept and they STILL want help.
Look, we are not going to keep pouring our hearts and all our free time into
doc's if you are not going to at least read them. What is the sense in that?
Apparently some people think that not only should we write up doc's, but we
should also write their step.rc's for them too.

I really don't mind the people who come in and ask a question because
either the documentation was sketchy on something or they just don't under-
stand it, but when it's pretty obvious that they never even looked at the readme
then I start to get upset. If you are unwilling to help yourself first, don't
come to me or anyone else looking for help. You will get flamed, ridiculed,
ignored, and eventually you will either quit using LiteStep or read some
documentation. So save everyone the fighting and please try and read what is
available before you ask a question.
